Megan O’Connell is an active flutist and educator in Southern Wisconsin.  As a teacher, Megan has served as Instructor of Flute at Beloit College since 2018.  She runs a large private studio on the west side of Madison and regularly teaches flute sectionals at Oregon High School.  She has also given flute clinics for UW-Whitewater’s Woodwind Mania, UW-Madison Summer Music Clinic, Madison Country Day School, Middleton/Cross Plains Area School District, Verona Area School District, and Fort Atkinson High School.  As a freelance performer, Megan appears frequently as a substitute flutist with LaCrosse Symphony Orchestra and Madison’s Capitol City Band.  She has also performed with Dubuque Symphony Orchestra, The Wisconsin Philharmonic, Beloit-Janesville Symphony Orchestra, and has played in pit orchestras with Middleton Players Theatre and Janesville Community Theatre. Megan earned a Master of Music in performance from UW-Madison and a Bachelor of Music in performance from UW-Whitewater.  Her teachers were Timothy Hagen, Stephanie Jutt, Jeanne Swack, and Robin Fellows.
